FWP test - Snowies Alpine Track - Kosciuszko National Park, NSW - 4 days/3 nights

Test description:

Tucked away in the vast sandstone country northwest of Sydney, Wollemi forms the largest and most intact part of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. Think sweeping cliffs, deep gorges, ancient forests, rivers and escarpments. Shaped over millions of years and cared for by Traditional Custodians for tens of thousands of years - and today supported by community caretakers, conservation organisations, and advocates for Country.

This is where the Wollemi Pine survived unnoticed for 90 million years.
Where powerful owls hunt.
Where glow-worms light canyon walls.

Camp Wollemi is an invitation to experience this breathtaking, humbling and rare Wilderness area.

The experience:

This two-night, two-day camp is about being outdoors and spending time on Country — walking, paddling, listening and observing. Shared outdoor experiences sit alongside learning, conversation and reflection, helping deepen an understanding of why places like Wollemi matter.

Hosted by For Wild Places, in cooperation with The Wilderness Society, Wollemi Camp brings together people who enjoy being outside and value moving through landscapes with care.

Over the weekend, we’ll:

  • Explore Wollemi’s sandstone country on foot
  • Spend time on the water at Ganguddy–Dunns Swamp - paddling or cold-water dips for those keen.
  • Hear stories connected to Country from Wiradjuri people
  • Learn from ecologists and conservation advocates
  • Share meals, quiet moments and conversations around the fire

Meet at camp in the late afternoon
Optional film screening in the evening
